| Teaching kids about Jesus is a special privilege that is a great distinction
of this school. |
After graduating from High School, I began to think
about what I should do with the rest of my life, so I attended Southwest
Junior College as a music major. Finding out after a year that music
was not a good major for me, I started teaching at our church's preschool
and found that I truly loved working with children. So I decided to
go back to college, but this time as an elementary education major.
I
graduated from Christian Heritage College, in San Diego County, with
a Bachelor or Arts and a teaching credential from UC Irvine. I then
went to Hemet, California, and taught Kindergarten at a Christian
school. At the next school, Tabernacle Baptist School in Concord,
I taught Kindergarten for two years and then went back to CSU at Hayward
to update my credential. I continued as a substitute teacher for Antioch
and Martinez school districts. I kept up with my love for teaching
by teaching English to Japanese girls for the next seven summers.
As my sons went through elementary school, I would always help out
in their classrooms. Finally, my oldest son went off to college, and
so I went back to work, here at Faith Christian Learning Center.
I really enjoy seeing my young students'
minds understand a new concept. Helping them to read is an awesome
responsibility and a great privilege to help shape their young minds.
Teaching kids about Jesus is a special privilege that is a great distinction
of this school. |
