Both my parents are teachers and I was able to see through their experience the usefulness of teaching. I love teaching the kids one-on-one and in group settings. I am presently the Administrative Assistant, Substitute Teacher, and Yearbook Teacher.
I find that the kids learn a lot easier when someone is showing them a lesson instead of just standing in front of the class and lecturing.
I really enjoy getting to see the growth of the children — both in their knowledge of the world and in their walk with God. One of the years when I was teaching full-time, one of my students was baptized. This was an encouragement to me that what I am doing is what God wants me to do. It shows that the children are getting the point.

Most of all, in the classroom, I like the individualized learning. I like the way the kids are learning about the Bible. They are doing a lot of Bible memorization and they are applying it to their lives, as well.
A while ago we were memorizing Eph 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate towards one another, forgiving one another." When a situation arose in the classroom, we were able to work it out on the basis of this verse. This is the kind of real-world experience that all Christians strive to teach their children.
