Faith Christian Learning Center
is a Kindergarten - 12th grade Christian school.
Our Mission Statement:
It is our mission to partner with parents and the
church to develop children into men and women who love Jesus Christ,
and to be responsible members of society, their churches, and families.
This is to be done by providing a quality Christian education through
the use of an individualized Christian curriculum, small classes,
and a qualified, caring Christian staff.
Here is a little overview information about our
school, including:
What
we believe
Faith Christian Learning Center is a non-denominational board-run
school. We are not associated with any particular church, but try
to meet the needs of the families of the evangelical churches in
our local area.
- We believe the Bible to be the
only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one
God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit.
- We believe
in the creation of man, an immediate direct act of God.
- We believe in the deity of our
Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in
His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed
blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right
hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation
of lost and sinful man, regeneration sovereignly applied by the
Holy Spirit and evidenced by a living faith in Christ, is absolutely
essential.
- We believe in the present ministry
of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled
to live a godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection
of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection
of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual
unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
How we teach
Students learn individually and
our curriculum teaches them individually. An individualized program
is designed to personalize each student's education to meet his
special needs while continuing to meet the education state requirements.
Because a student is working at his "instructional" level
instead of at his "frustration" level, he gains a high
self-esteem. He starts attaining success instead of being left behind.
In our Upper Division/High School,
we have one computer for every two students. Each of our classrooms
(except Kindergarten) has at least two computers. Our eventual goal
is to have a computer for each student.
All professional teachers know
the principle:
|
Students
learn on the basis of what the students do, not on the basis
of what their teachers do.
|
At Faith Christian Learning
Center, we don't just recite the principle, our entire program is
designed to integrate and implement the principle.

Our
Curriculum
Faith Christian Learning Center's
core curriculum is from A.C.E.
Ministries in Lewisville, Texas. Unlike standard education practices
at public schools, our curriculum is aimed at mastery of a concept
before progressing to the next concept.
Instead of dividing the students into categories
telling them that they are an 'A' student, or a 'C' or 'D'
student each student in our program sets his or her goals
and then, using self-paced learning materials, the student works
until achieving mastery of the materials. Some have to work harder,
or longer on a given module, while others find mastery easier; the
power of the program is that all students, working at their own
pace, master all the learning.
Because all students work at their instructional
level instead of at their frustration level, they gain in self-esteem.
They begin attaining success instead of being left behind.
Our
History
Faith Christian Learning Center has been in
existence since 1991. It was established to help meet the needs
of Christian families from evangelical homes. Because the school
was started as an act of faith on the part of interested parents,
it was given the name of the Faith Christian Warriors (Ephesians
6:11-18).
- The school began as a one-room schoolhouse.
- The first class was Grades 2-8 (1991-1992).
- The next year a High School was added (1992-1993).
- A Kindergarten was added the following year
(1993-1994).
- Next we split into 3 classrooms: A Kindergarten,
A Lower Division of Grades 1-4, and an Upper Division/ High School
of Grades 5-8 and 9-12 (1994-1995).
- We left our Brentwood
location and went to Oakley. (1/1/2005)
